Diva Biz is about women in business - their experiences, challenges and inspiration. It’s also about business! It is for entrepreneurs who are building their own businesses and intrapreneurs who are helping others to build theirs.

It’s born out of my own experience in business and in women’s enterprise. I wanted to share the personal insights which I and others have gained, especially from a woman’s perspective. And by sharing our insights, we gain others (a kind of virtuous circle) which lifts the critical mass of knowledge and awareness.

Though it’s increasingly recognised that women have a different professional style (and often different motivations and values), we are still a minority in the business world so it’s reassuring to know these differences are shared by other women.

Also, it’s simply astonishing to find out how women in contrasting fields are building their achievements, and to realise that while there are some common themes, the nature of business is as diverse as human nature itself!

Diva Biz is not about strategy and structure (there are MBAs for that), it’s about something far less tangible - the common, unspoken and untaught language of business, it’s ‘human nature’ - invisible yet at the heart of survival and, indeed, success – maybe even the ‘holy grail of business’?

Through dialogues with the women leaders on this site (many of whom are relatively unknown yet highly accomplished) and with authors and academics who have written on women’s enterprise, you’ll find an astonishing amount of insight and wisdom which speaks right from the heart and embraces intellectual, emotional and spiritual dimensions. And because it’s personal, it’s powerful! So expect the messages to resonate strongly whatever business you are in and whatever stage of your career.

There are also mentoring sessions, expert group discussions and ‘Diva wisdom’ in the form of quick insights. New material is added each month giving you a variety of ‘quick fixes’ and much ‘food for thought’. And you can comment on each video in the forum attached, linking up with other users, if you wish.

I hope you gain a sense of community from this site and enjoy the experience, which is partly mentoring (from the comfort of your own desk) and partly tonic!
